Mother Of Dragons

Hey all! So I've been meaning to post this for a while and it took me over a week to get it done, cause there was always something I wasn't pleased with until I finally got it as good as I wanted it to look. Obviously this image is based on the TV series Game Of Thrones. The dress made by Peqe for fantasy faire and the hair made by Monso for Wizading Faire inspired me to do this. I know I'm very late but I am very happy with the results and it was a very fun photo to make.

SL Style Hunter Turns 5!

Back in 2008 when I started this blog: Armidi was the shit, flexi was all the rage and every single shoe had an invisible prim. When my avatar was only 6 months old was when I decided to start this blog, I never thought I'd still be here posting 5 years later. With the first skin I bought ever in SL and merely the poses of my AO, a very clueless Lauryn Arado began to blog fashion, without having any knowledge about how to take a decent picture and the word photoshop was completely unknown. 

This is why for the 5th anniversary of this blog I decided to take a look back to all my clueless and photography fail moments; To laugh, to see how much SL has evolved, to appreciate how much I feel I have improved and just in general to ask myself: What the hell was I thinking when I thought that looked good or awesome?! hahaha

For the picture above I chose 5 pictures and looks I did for the blog back in 2008-2009 that made me just go "oh god what the hell was I thinking?". There's plenty more of those moments though hahaha, if you wanna have a good laugh feel free to scroll back!

A Touch Of Surrealism

Hey all! I'm back from some short rl vacations. A lot of things happened while I was absent from sl and I'm trying to catch up, lots of events and lots of amazing new releases. Anyway, I've always been a big fan of Designers United. I've been blogging this event for years! and this is why I was sooo excited to see that it's back and the theme is Surrealism. As I mentioned on my previous post now I'm ready to get more into fall fashion and I will leave summer behind. This time I tried to go with a basic and clean look where the color black is predominant and with gold accessories. Gold and Black are always a stunning combination. With the help of these stunning boots and coat it was easy for me to get the outfit together.

Oh Daisy!

Hey all! I'm back with another retro look once again, this time around based on the Art Deco theme that was chosen for the latest edition of Collabor 88. My inspiration was the character of Daisy Buchanan from the Baz Luhrmann's version of The Great Gatsby and since the last time I was a brunette and wore dark colors, this time I decided to be a blonde and wear mostly light colors, like the character does in the movie. 

Absolutely loved the hair that's materials ready and wow you can tell! it's so realistic. Also I have a deep love for sequins and was so pleasantly surprised to see that Hucci's new gown had a sequin pattern in it, so pretty!

Flora & Butterflies

Hey all! I come with a very simple look but I am hoping that with a very powerful message. The message is the Love Donna Flora event, of which I'm pretty sure you've heard plenty of lately.

I have featured on this blog, plenty of times, the beautiful items made by Squinternet Larnia and for sale in her store Donna Flora. Well when I found out she was sick and fighting fiercely against cancer, I wanted to help. I have always admired her work, I have told people lots of times that one of the best places to find beautiful jewelry in Second Life is her store. I've never had a chance to talk to her or to meet her, but she has certainly made my SL a better place. So this is for her and for the wonderful event that is being thrown in her honor and to help her! Be sure to visit her store and the Love Donna Flora event :)

The Sign of the Self

Hey all! I'm back after some amazing vacations time and I'm finally ready to start blogging again.

The name of this blog post may seem a little strange but it's basically refering to one of the descriptions I found of my astrological sign: Aries. It is said that Aries it's the sign of the self. It also happens that there's an in world event called Zodiac and all the items being sold in it right now are inspired by (the best and most awesome sign in the world...fine! I know I'm a little biased) Aries.

Anyway, this look was inspired by several new releases and one of them comes from the Zodiac event. Oh also be sure to check out the new PXL skin available at Collabot 88, it's gorgeous!

This look was inspired by this dress that I found on a recent visit to House of Hucci and by the new skins made by PXL that follow the theme of the seven deadly sins (that explains the name for this blog post).
